Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, a British American singer and musician, is well known for her musical talents. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is one of the rising stars of India's sitar. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London and New Delhi. When she was 13 she performed her first performance on stage in New Delhi. In the following years, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. The career of Anouskha as a musician and performer is impressive, despite her youth. Since a while, she regularly performs with her father. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. The stage work she has done is vast as she has appeared in all of the major stages in the world. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not restricted to just music. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that gives a special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she appeared in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka continues to grow in her professional career, and there will be many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka is a native of England and spent a lot of her childhood between London as well as Delhi. Then she moved to California and went to the high school there. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration, Anoushka made her debut playing the sitar before the crowd of four years following her nine-year-old father. Anoushka was a part of her father throughout his global tour, gained an incredible number of experiences. In her teenage years she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. She was the only female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament in recognition of her artistry and musicianship as an outstanding musician from in the Asian Arts.
